Sophomore guard Matt Caggiano scores with :01 seconds to play in regulation to lead RIT (5-7, 3-3 Liberty League to a 60-58 win at St. Lawrence (9-6, 4-5 Liberty League) Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Caggiano nailed a jumper with :01 second remaining in regulation to secure the win for RIT.
- St Lawrence’s Will Englehardt made two free throws that tied the score at 58-58 with :07 seconds to play after Ryan made two free throws to give RIT a two-point lead.
- Ryan scored at the 14:15 mark of the second half to give RIT a 37-36 lead.
- RIT outscored St. Lawrence 32-28 in the secind half.
GAME NOTES
- RIT shot 22-of-56 from the floor, including 4-of-16 from beyond the arc,
- Sophomore Kevin Ryan led RIT with 14 points, including 8-of-9 from the foul line.
- Chase Lewis scored 11 points off the bench, while Kenny WIlburn chipped in 12 points.
Ryan was one of four Tigers to score in double-figures, finishing with 16 points to lead RIT (6-7, 4-3 Liberty League) to a 77-70 win at Clarkson (4-11, 1-7 Liberty League) Saturday. Freshman Brock Bowen scored 13 points, while Curtis Nesbit and Chase Lewis each scored 10 points.
