Tournament MVP Caquan Wester scored six of his 13 points in the third quarter when Eastridge pulled away to claim the tournament championship. Teammate Emmanuel Leftenant led all scorers with 22. Emmanuel Torres added 13 while Zy Switzer had 11 and Cordell Young, 10. Jaden Gamble (8), Ju Ju Pittman (7) and Jayden Reese (2) rounded out the scoring for the Lancers. For the second time in as many nights Eastridge opened the game with a 30-point first quarter. Jahmere Kirkland paced the Leadership offense with 17 points, three assists and two steals. Shamirr Brooks had nine points and four assists. Daiquon McKinney scored 12. Dayveon Weems scored all 11 of his points in the fourth quarter. Kenny Couser had eight points and Jose Melendez five. Jaiven Fell chipped in two points.

Trailing by five heading into the fourth quarter, Chris James poured in 11 of his game-high 26 points to lead a NE Douglass comeback. James connected four times from the floor and converted all three of his free throw opportunities over the final eight minutes of the contest. James finished the night with four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Loren Thomas contributed all eight of his points in the final stanza. Wilson Riaa contributes 14 points and eight rebounds for the Panthers. Asiatic Rahmaan scored three points while Akellis Wester, Roberto Robinson, Roberto Echevarria and Kari Thomas scored two points apiece. Jaquan Shears led Monroe with 20 points. Felton Gray had 15 and Jeremiah Kpor, 12 points. Khalil Graham (6), Davion Jones (2) and Tyrece Stewart (1) rounded out the scoring for Monroe.

Ryan Mineo and Gabe Taylor connected on a 3-pointer apiece in the third quarter when Arcadia outscored Spencerport 17-11 to take a nine-point lead into the final eight minutes of the contest. Taylor finished the game with nine points. Tournament MVP Dana Bolger hit three pointers in the contest and led the Titans 14 points. Vinnie Cacia and Austin DiNatale added eight apiece. Mike Bolger contributed seven. Latrell Rowe (5) and Brian Shonitsky (1) rounded out the scoring for Arcadia. Spencerport’s Bryon Streb scored nine of his game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter as the Rangers put together a late rally. Ty Heaton scored 16. Justin Bryant had nine. Taron Beachum (3), Jason Marchincin (2) and Te’jon McCadney (1) also scored for Spencerport.

Francis Nwokonko added 11 points while Nate Grego had nine. Andrew Wilson and PJ Leicht contributed four apiece. Kaeden Laureano (3), Owen Cumming (2), Justin Sillen (2) and Xavier Bauer (1) rounded out the scoring for the Blue Devils. Odyssey’s MaRon McDonald led all scorers with 14. Gavin Williams added nine, Jazir Larkin five and Bruce Crockton one.

Tournament MVP Mike Morgan led four in double figures with 17 points, and the Edison Tech Inventors held on to defeat host Aquinas in the championship game of the 2021 Mike Dianetti Memorial Tip-Off Tournament. Morgan connected seven times from the floor. The senior guard converted on a pair of rebound and putback opportunities in the third quarter, the first of which gave the Inventors their largest lead of the second half at 50-41. READ MORE.

Game MVP Kyle Wade finished with 21 points and 17 rebounds to lead Cal-Mum. Scott Essig added 19 points and six rebounds while Evan Raniewicz had seven points and Jeremy Raymond six. Marcus Whitman’s Connor Tomion hit five 3-pointers and finished with game-high 25 points. Nolan Lee had 13 while Connor Gorton scored seven. Myles Prendergast had four points.
“Good to grind out wins early in the season,” Cal-Mum head coach Dan Dickens said. “Defensively we were a little flat and offensively never really got into any rhythm. Long break (10 days) before our next game so going to use that time to iron out somethings and keep improving.”

Connor Scott and Zach Marsceill combined for 44 points including 16 in the second quarter when Elba outscored J-T 21-5 to take a commanding lead. Scott connected five times from the floor during the stanza for 11 of his game -high 24 points. Marsceill converted all five of the free throw attempts he took during the second quarter and ended the game with 20 points. CJ Gottler hit three 3-pointers and added 11 points. Angleo Penna scored two. Cash Bouton paced J-T with with 22 points. Colbey Cornish added 15. Cayden Lawson had six points.

Pacey Hopkins led three in double figures with 19 points for Avoca/Prattsburgh. The senior guard also collected seven assists, six rebounds and three steals. Macoy Putnam added 17 points along with six assists, six steals and five rebounds. Haden Abbott had 13 points, six rebounds, four steals and two assists. Sawyer Devone had eight rebounds. York was led by Jake Pangrazio while Adam Swede had 11 and Tyler Brady eight points.
“Hats off to Prattsburgh, they executed better down the stretch than we did,” York head coach Ed Orman, Jr. said. “We didn’t value the basketball the way we need to and didn’t finish possessions. We are really young and just didn’t finish the game. Hopefully down the road a loss like this will help us to mature and grow as a team.”
