Some local high schools will be without prominent contributors when the 2021-22 high school boys’ basketball season gets started later this year.
Markus Robinson (C.G. Finney) and Turner Harris (Northstar Christian) have enrolled at prep school for this year as reported earlier this week by Bill Collmer on Twitter.
Robinson, a two-time Private-Parochial League Player of the Year, is attending Veritas Academy in Virginia. The 6-foot-1 guard scored 2,250 point career points at Finney. Robinson still has two years of high school eligibility remaining.

Harris averaged 24 points per game with 7.1 rebounds and 2.4 steals at Northstar. The First Team Private-Parochial League performer is enrolled at National Christian Academy in Maryland.

Both transfers were confirmed by the local schools.
The departures of Harris and Robinson follow similar paths taken by East’s Justus Ross-Simmons, Damarius Owens of Aquinas and UPrep’s Cam Dyer.
Ross-Simmons, who recently committed to play football at the University of Nevada, is currently enrolled at Inglewood High School in California. He helped East’s Eagles to back-to-back sectional titles on the hardwood. On the gridiron, Ross-Simmons paced the Eagles during his junior year with 437 rushing yards, 267 receiving yards, 41 tackles, seven touchdowns, five pass deflections, five tackles for loss and three sacks.
Owens announced last summer he would enroll at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio. The 6-foot-6 forward stepped into a starting role as a sophomore with Aquinas last year. He played this past summer with the City Rocks 16U Nike EYBL squad. Owens has already received an offer from UMBC.
Dyer is attending Dixie High School in St. George, Utah.
