For the second straight start, Luis Reyes had one bad inning and got no run support in suffering the loss on the mound for the Red Wings in a 7-1 defeat on Sunday in Buffalo as Rochester dropped five of six at Sahlen Field.
A three-run third inning did in Reyes and the Wings, Kevin Smith had a two-run single and Tyler White followed with an RBI single.
Smith tacked on a two-run double in the eighth for the Bisons. Smith went 4-for-5 while the Wings managed just three hits as a team.
Rochester’s lone run came on Jake Noll’s 11th homer of the season in the seventh inning. It was Noll’s 90th hit of the year, that’s third best in Triple-A.
The Red Wings return home to host the Lehigh Valley IronPigs for seven games, including a day-night doubleheader on Saturday. The series opens Tuesday with Tyler Eppler scheduled to start for Rochester.
