Scranton/Wilkes-Barre starter Brody Koerner hurled five shutout innings, and the RailRiders defeated the Rochester Red Wings 4-1 in International League action from PNC Field, Saturday night.
The loss was the Wings fourth in the past five meetings with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Leadoff man Hoy Park finished 2-for-3 including a third inning solo shot and drove in three runs for the RailRiders.
Rochester’s Jake Noll went 2-for-4 in the loss. The Wings first baseman has hits in 13 of his last 14 games.
Wings starter Sean Nolin fell to 3-3 on the season. The left-hander allowed three runs on five hits and three walks over 4.2 innings.
Ali Castillo, Derek Dietrich and Adrián Sanchez added a hit apiece in the loss.
The Wings (28-41) and RailRiders (45-22) continue the series on Sunday with a 1:05 p.m. first pitch.
