The Symetra Tour will have a new leader when they tee it up at Brook Lea Country Club this week at the Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic.
Casey Danielson earned her second win of the season on Saturday, winning the Donald Ross Classic in French Lick, Indiana.
A National Champion in 2015 with Stanford, Danielson won the Symetra Classic in May for her first victory in four seasons on the Tour.
With the win, she moved past China’s Ruixin Liu for the top spot on the money list as the players make their way to Rochester this week.
Coincidentally, Brook Lea is also a Donald Ross course, in fact, the famed architect is immortalized with a statue overlooking the ninth green.
Danielson shot 68 in the final two rounds to win by one shot over Beth Wu. Danielson’s final round highlighted with an eagle on the par 4 11th hole.
The victory comes after she missed three of the last four cuts.
“I definitely learned a lot from winning and got a little ahead of myself, I hate to admit it, “ she said. “Expectations came in and (they) left my golf game a little bit of a mess because I wasn’t able to stay mentally present.”
