Pittsford Mendon senior Jacob Shadders will continue his basketball career at the collegiate level. The 6-foot-2 guard announced his commitment to Charleston Southern University via Twitter, Friday evening.

Shadders has led the Vikings with 80 points in four games (20 PPG) so far. The senior guard netted a season-high 29 points in a 75-49 victory over Brockport on Opening Night.
Overall, Shadders has poured in 1,132 career points over his three and a half years at the varsity level. The 6-foot-2 guard’s accolades include the 2020 Monroe County Division III Player of the Year, being named to the All-State Class A Ninth Team and the 2019 Monroe County Division III First Team.
Shadders will be the first player from the program to compete at the collegiate Division I level since Greg Monroe attended Syracuse University from 1983 to 1987. Monroe started on the 1987 Orange squad which advanced to the national championship as well.
