Kihei Clark procured four points and two assists in the final three minutes of the contest to lead Virginia to the win in its conference opener. The 5-foot-9 guard converted a three-point play in which he rolled in an off-handed layup to extend the Cavaliers’ lead to seven. Clark then found Sam Hauser for a long-range bomb from the top of the key off an offensive rebound and threaded the needle to Jay Huff for a dunk. Overall, Clark led with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting, five assists and three rebounds. Huff made 7-of-9 field goals for 15 points while Hauser produced a double-double of 13 points and 10 boards. For Notre Dame, Nate Laszewski poured in a game-high 28 points and grabbed six rebounds. Juwan Durham netted 19 off the bench.
