Danny Mendick (Pittsford Mendon/Monroe Community College) connected on his first home run of the 2020 Major League Baseball season in a 7-2 Chicago White Sox victory, Monday night.
Mendick drilled a 1-1 offering from Rony Garcia down the left field line that landed just inside the foul pole. The blast was measured at 107.7 MPH off the bat.
The home run was Mendick’s seventh hit in his last seven games, a stretch in which he is batting .318.
The middle infielder has appeared in 17 of Chicago’s 23 games this season. He is hitting .275. Mendick earned a promotion to the White Sox late in the 2019 season. He hit .308 in 16 games with two home runs and four RBI.
Mendick’s round-tripper was one of six hit by the White Sox in the game. The ChiSox hit back-to-back-to-back-to-back homers in a win over St. Louis on Sunday.
