Gates-Chili junior Adam Williams led a Spartans squad that won 10 games and advanced to the Class AA sectional quarterfinals as the No. 10 seed. The 6-foot-4 forward averaged 16.5 points, shot 46 percent (139-of-299) from the field and 72 percent (56-of-77) from the free throw line.
Williams scored 362 points, corralled 165 rebounds (7.5 RPG), handed out 46 assists (2.1 APG) and swiped 34 steals (1.6 SPG) in 535 minutes (24.3 MPG). The junior forward netted double-digit points in 19 of 22 games played. Williams reached the 20-point plateau in eight contests, including a season-high 31 on January 10th in a 78-53 win at Webster Thomas. In the game, the 6-foot-4 forward poured in all of his points in three quarters, including 12 in the first, eight in the second and 11 in the third.
The other seven 20-point performances by Williams this season included 21 on December 9th at Wilson Magnet, 26 on December 18th against Victor, 23 on December 27th against Pittsford Sutherland, 24 on December 28th against Edison Tech, 26 on January 13th against Greece Athena, 21 on January 17th at Churchville-Chili and 24 on February 13th against Spencerport.
With the graduation of Mitchell Harris, Mair Morrison, Terrace Walker, Jr. and Devin Walton, Williams, a second team All-County selection and honorable mention All State, will add to his already prominent role with classmates Spencer Glenn and Kobe McCray.
