Webster Thomas sophomore Jackson Kulik was third in scoring on a Titans squad that won 13 games and advanced to the Class AA sectional quarterfinals as the No. 5 seed. The 6-foot-5 forward averaged 9.7 points on 41.8 percent (79-of-189) shooting, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
Kulik scored double figures in nine of 21 games played, including a season-high 21 on December 13th in an 86-44 win over Canandaigua. In a game in which senior Andrew Mason eclipsed 1,000 career points, Kulik netted all of his points in three quarters and converted 8-of-12 field goals.
Other standout performances by the sophomore forward included two steals twice (January 22nd in a 51-50 win over Brockport and the first round of sectionals against Franklin), four free throws and six boards on January 8th at Victor, four long-range shots on December 7th in a 91-65 win at Eastridge, five assists on December 11th at Hilton, six rebounds on December 6th at Churchville-Chili and January 14th against Fairport and 8-of-12 field goals on February 12th against Rush-Henrietta.
Last spring, Kulik played AAU for the Fury Basketball Club. With the graduation of Mason, Kulik will be featured in the Thomas offense with Tyler Williams.
