ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Shariona Blocker scored 21 of her game-high 29 points in the second half, and the East High girls basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 67-36 victory over Greece Arcadia in non-league action, Tuesday night.
Blocker also grabbed 10 rebounds and handed out eight assists in the win. The junior guard averages 18.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. She has handed out 4.9 assists and collected collected 2.9 steals per game this season.
Teammates Makayla McCorker and Diamond Pickett finished with 12 points and eight rebounds apiece. Xandria Wilson had six points, five assists and five steals. East (7-8) travels on Thursday to Wilson Magnet for an RCAC matchup against the Wildcats. A 6 PM tip off is scheduled.
Jazmine Darling led Greece Acadia with 14 points. Darling also had three steals, two assists and a rebound. Anna Dueker added 12 points with five blocks. Kristina Geraci finished with five points and eight rebounds. Makenna Misiurewicz handed out three assists. Arcadia hosts crosstown rival Greece Athena for a 7:15 game on Friday.
