ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Julia Perales connected six times from behind the 3-point arc and paced a pivotal second quarter, as the Webster Schroeder girls’ basketball team downed Brockport, 62-52 to claim the 2020 Coach Chow Classic Saturday at Spencerport High School.
Trailing 12-7 after the first eight minutes of play, Perales connected three times from long range to help the Lady Warriors take a 27-21 lead at halftime. The All-Tournament team selection hit eight treys in the two games.
Tournament MVP Lill Northrup scored 11 points in the championship and 31 points for the tournament.
Anya Watkins added 13 points in Saturday’s win, Schroeder’s fourth straight. Senior Kaitlyn Brewer scored eight points and corralled 15 rebounds. Olivia Reschke and Mariah Watkins scored six apiece for Schroeder (7-6). Schroeder hosts Sutherland on Tuesday.
Brockport’s Ella Fadale scored 15 points. Emma Laureano added 11. GG Allen and Emily Vergari scored eight apiece for the Blue Devils. Emma Sodoma chipped in with five points. Ava Velletri had four. Anna Wojtas converted one free throw. Allen and Fadale earned All-Tournament Team honors.
Brockport (10-3) had won three straight coming into the game. The Blue Devils play at Penfield on Tuesday.
