Girls Soccer Wrap: Spencerport advances on PKs; Jud’s hat trick sends Avoca to state final

CLASS A

PEARL RIVER (I/16-1-4) 0
SPENCERPORT (15-3-3) advances on PKs 4-2
Cat Wall stopped a pair of penalty kick attempts while Corynna Rotoli, Sabrina Trapani, Lily Brongo and Lily DiPalma converted opportunities to clinch Spencerport’s third NYS championship game appearance in four years. The game was a rematch of the 2017 NYS game. Similar to that contest, the teams were deadlocked after four overtime periods. The Rangers will be looking to win their third state title when they take on Shoreham-Wading River (XI) in Sunday’s championship game. 

CLASS B

PLEASANTVILLE (I/18-1-2) 4
GREECE OLYMPIA (17-4-1) 0
The Pleasantville Panthers continue to make program history, as they advance further and further into the Class B state playoffs. Saturday marked their first-ever final four match, but they didn’t intend on just a one-day stay in Cortland. READ THE COMPLETE ARTICLE FROM LOHUD HERE

CLASS C 

STILLWATER (II/20-0-2) 3
MARION (20-2-0) 2
Chloe DeLyser and Abigail Marotta scored a goal apiece for Marion. Sarah Lange collected the assist on DeLyser’s 76th marker of the season and 336th of her career. The game was DeLyser’s final at Marion. She will continue her career at Ohio State University. READ THE DAILY GAZETTE ARTICLE HERE

HAMMOND CENTRAL (X/18-2-0) 0
AVOCA CENTRAL (20-2-0) 3
Selina Jud netted a hat trick, and Avoca advanced to its first appearance in the NYSPHSAA Class D championship game. The Tigers will play Poland (III) in Sunday’s 10:30 AM contest.
