Dylan Kladstrup had a goal and an assist in the first half to lead Sutherland in the opener for both teams. John Holland started the scoring before Kladstrup doubled the lead. Aidan Pellegrino converted on a set piece when Kladstrup led him with a free kick from the left wing for a 3-nil Sutherland lead at halftime. Sutherland goalie Matthew Nixon stopped a penalty kick. Aaron Anandarajah redirected an Endon Demiri cross for the lone Mendon goal.

Shawn Britton scored off a feed from Torin Broderick in the second half for the game winner as the reigning Section V Class A champions opened the season with a win. Cal Oberst made four saves for his first varsity shutout.

Fairport’s Caden Brunken scored and added an assist on a Ryan Collins tally in the 68th minute as the Red Raiders rallied for the tie. Isaac Buckley and Nick Kacurovski scored a goal apiece for Webster Thomas to give the Titans a 2-1 lead halftime. Nick Harrington and Taner Goren both had an assist for Thomas. Owen Faller assisted on Brunken’s goal in the 23rd minute.

Devin LaDue connected in the 87th minute as Wayne avenged a loss in last year’s Class A semifinals. Josh Bolt and Matt Gentile staked the Eagles to 2-nil halftime lead before C-C rallied. Caleb Bailey converted a Mario Cozzo pass to put the Saints on the scoreboard. Gaven Egan leveled the match with an assist from Jacob Anthony before LaDue collected the golden goal. Gentile and Cullen Bock collected an assist apiece. Colby Egan and Andrew Vannest scored three minutes apart in the first half to lead Churchville past Wayne, 3-2 in 2018 Section V Class A semifinals.

Senior Brad Talsania collected two goals and an assist, and the McQuaid Jesuit Knights claimed the 2019 Catholic Cup. Talsania connected from 30 yards less than two minutes into the match. The midfielder set up Elliott Aguirre two minutes later and McQuaid was off to a commanding lead. READ MORE.

Sergio Dunn tallied three times and Adam Sheehan added a pair of markers to lead Bloomfield in the consolation match of the Taylor Bliss Memorial Soccer Tourney. Ryan Wollschleger and Jared Sheaves added a goal apiece. Wollschleger collected two assists. Ryan Herod scored the lone Marcus Whitman goal.
