DI GOLD 4
DI RED 5 (8 innings)
Shane Harisis (Eastridge) scampered home with the winning run to cap a late-inning rally as DI Red advanced to play DI Blue in the 2019 Upstate Baseball League championship game. Using the International League rule for extra inning-play, Harisis started the inning on second base where he took advantage of an error to clinch the walk-off win.

Eventually he left the bases loaded inducing a routine fly ball to escape the jam. Ryan Coughlin (Greece Athena) walked twice and scored twice in the game including the second run in a two-run sixth inning when DI Red erased a two-run deficit. Jack Scanlon (Aquinas Institute) led the frame with a walk of his own.

Two outs later, the pair took advantage of wild pitches to knot the game. Gold, which had handed Red (6-2-1) one of its two losses on the season and was previously undefeated against the top-seeded squad, looked poised to continue that trend. Joe Alphonse (Greece Olympia) knocked a two-out single up the middle that scored Will Russotti (McQuaid Jesuit) and Ethan Germano (Northstar Christian).
