Daniel Bowman (Fairport) broke open a tie game in the fifth inning in Upstate Baseball League action from Towers Field on the University of Rochester campus. Bowman plated Grant Rodriguez (Rush-Henrietta) with his second hit of the day to help Blue improve to 3-0 on the season. Rodriguez reached on a hit by pitch to start the decisive inning. One out later, Bowman singled to bring in the go-aheaed run. He later crossed home on a wild pitch. Blue scored three more runs in the sixth to put the game out of reach. Patrick Walsh (Gananda) struck out three and did not allow a hit over two shutout innings of relief work to pick up the win. Ben Ranney (Pittsford Sutherland) worked two scoreless innings to notch the save. Tanner Frank (Brighton) drove in a two with a single to spark a four-run Grey first. Blue responded with two runs in the home half of the inning and added five more in the second. Jake Dockum (HAC) tied the score for Grey in the third with a two-out, two-run single. Rodriguez finished 2-for-3 on the day with an RBI and two runs scored. Bowman went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run. Jake Veniskey (Webster Thomas) went 2-for-3 with two runs. Malakai Taylor (Mynderse) collected two hits, an RBI a run scored. Walsh scored two runs. Paul Conroy (Bishop Kearney) was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run. Joe Conroy (Bishop Kearney) had a hit, a walk and a run scored. Max Stuver (McQuaid Jesuit) paced Grey going 2-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored. Frank collected two RBI and two runs scored. Zach Hosmer worked three walks and scored twice. Dock collected three RBI.

Jack Scanlon (Aquinas) connected on a two-run inside-the-park home run in the seventh inning as DI Red rallied for the tie. Logan Bush (Aquinas) reached on a dropped third strike and scored from first when Scanlon’s drive to center took a hop over the centerfielder. Scanlon finished 2-for-3 with three RBI in the game. Calvin Rogers went 2-for-2 on the afternoon and helped DI Gold to a 4-2 lead with an RBI and a run scored. Wes Colucci (Churchville-Chili) drove in a run with a single and struck out five over six innings of work on the mound. Jett Kopalek (Rush-Henrietta) collected a hit, a run and an RBI.Ethan Hurwitz (Pittsford Sutherland) was 2-for-3 on the day. Shane Harisis (Eastridge) and Jack Von ahnen (Webster Schroeder) contributed two hits apiece for Red. Paul Sofinski (Webster Thomas) struck out three and allowed one run on two hits over three innings of relief work.
