Emily Phelan had another dominant performance at Bishop Kearney on Thursday afternoon.
Phelan pitched a two-hitter and fanned 16 Charles G. Finney batters to bring her career total to 1,312 strike outs, passing Rebecca Rogers for seventh in New York State history. She reached the 1,300 punchout plateau by striking out the side in the second inning. The Kings won 8-2 to improve to 8-3 on the season.
The outing followed an 18-strikeout performance in Phelan’s last game on the hill. She is 33 strikeouts away from sixth on the New York State list.

Outside the circle, the St. Bonaventure commit helped her own cause with two doubles in three at bats.
Mack Emery connected on a two-run home run in the win. Emily Tytler finished 2-for-4 with three RBI. Marissa Giannavola drove in a run and was 2-for-4.
