Jagger Nucci struck out six and allowed one run on six hits over six innings as Athena (8-1) won its fourth straight game. Nucci retired seven of eight from the end of the second through the first out of the fourth and then seven of eight again to close the fourth through the first two outs of the sixth. Zach Geist finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Geist came home on Jayson Russell’s one-out single in the fifth to snap a scoreless tie. Geist plated a run in the sixth when the Trojans sent 10 to the plate and scored five times to break open the game. Anthony Bonacci went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBI. Casey Saucke II continued his hot hitting going 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBI and two runs scored. Saucke has 11 hits in Athena’s last four games. Jake Cerone singled and scored a run. Jorge Oropeza III added an RBI. RJ Vignari and Justin Kimble both scored a run. Sutherland’s Torin Wilcox was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Tyler DePaolis singled and came home with the lone Sutherland run.

PITTSFORD MENDON 9 (9 INNINGS)
The Pittsford Mendon Vikings battled back from a 7-1 deficit for six runs in the bottom of the seventh and a walk-off two-run homer from Hudson Bockmier. With one out in the ninth inning, senior second baseman Zach Janson singled. Bockmier followed up by taking the first pitch he saw over the right field fence. Bockmier finished the game 2-for-5 with four RBI and a run scored. The senior tied the game with a one-out, two-run double to drive in Karthik Mathew-Malik and Tyler Procious. Mathew-Malik went 2-for-5 and doubled to right field to trim the Vikings’ deficit to 7-4. Andrew Bernacki and Janson both had two hits and an RBI. For Greece Arcadia, Evan Caufield and Drew Southcott both drove in a pair of runs and crossed the plate twice. The senior duo hit back-to-back RBI doubles in the fourth inning to extend the Titans’ lead to 4-1. Southcott collected three hits in five at-bats and Caufield was 2-for-4 with a walk. Junior Spencer Phillips singled and drove in Caufield for a 2-0 first-inning lead.

Victor seniors Hudson Alread and CJ Williams both doubled and drove in a pair of runs as part of a five-run fifth inning to snap a 2-2 tie. Alread scored the fifth run of the frame on a sacrifice fly from senior Jarod Signorelli. Trailing 2-0, the Victor Blue Devils manufactured a run in the second inning on a two-out single from Signorelli. Senior Sam DiGiacomo singled with two outs in the bottom of the third frame to tie the game at two runs apiece. Williams finished the game 3-for-4 at the plate. Seniors Ryan Lukas and Santino Rosso both had two hits. Senior pitcher Drew Delaney threw a complete game three-hitter, striking out six while walking only one batter. For Penfield, Peyton Pace singled and Gage Ziehl doubled to spark a two-run opening frame. The sophomore duo scored on a fielder’s choice and a sacrifice fly. Victor improved its record to 6-5 overall, including 6-0 in league play. Penfield is 6-3. Victor will host Churchville-Chili on Friday at 4:30 PM.

The Newark Reds broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the second inning and scored in every frame the rest of the way, including seven in the third. In his first varsity game, Josh Scotti earned the win with four innings of three-hit ball, allowing one walk and striking out three batters. At the plate, the sophomore pitcher went 3-for-3 with two RBI and five runs scored. Senior Connor Robbins collected four hits in five at-bats and drove in five runs. Sophomore Julius Teabout was 2-for-2 with a triple and four RBI. Senior Lucas DeVito went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs. Liam Childs doubled and brought in a pair of runs in his three at-bats. On the mound, Brendan Briggs, James Brownell and Childs all worked one inning. The trio combined to allow one run, three hits, two walks and strike out four batters. As a team, the Reds had 13 hits. Newark improved its record to 9-2 overall and 6-1 in league play. Newark will host on Wayne on Thursday.

Nick Green threw a complete game and only allowed one earned run. At the plate, the senior right-hander had two RBI. Sophomore David Voss doubled among his four hits in four at-bats. Senior Nick Clearman singled twice and drove in a pair of runs. Freshman Jackson Brahm went 2-for-4.

Honeoye scored in every inning, including five runs in the sixth, and ran away for the victory. Darren Redmond broke out for five hits in six at-bats, drove in six runs and crossed the plate three times. On the mound, the junior right-hander threw four innings of three-run ball. Seniors Brett Higley and Tyler Rudolph both collected three hits. Rudolph drew a walk, had three RBI and scored four runs. Higley tripled, drove in a run and crossed the plate three times as well. Charlie Ferrell went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI and a run scored. The freshman right-hander hurled three innings, struck out three batters and did not allow a hit to earn the win. For Marcus Whitman, senior Dylan Howell was 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored. Sophomore Carson Miller went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks, an RBI and two stolen bases. Senior Austin Webster doubled, drew three walks and scored a run.

NORTH ROSE-WOLCOTT 0 (5 INNINGS)
Gananda surged for four runs in the opening frame and scored in all five innings in a shutout win. Tim McClare went 2-for-2 with a pair of walks, four RBI and a run scored. The senior doubled and drove in Luke Ciprich, Zach Ciprich and Patrick Walsh as part of a five-run fifth. On the mound, McClare struck out five batters in two innings. Zach Ciprich doubled twice, drove in two runs and crossed the plate twice in three at-bats. Junior Christian Clarq was 3-for-3 with a pair of singles, a triple, an RBI and two runs scored. Luke Ciprich doubled and drove in Clarq for a 9-0 lead in the fifth inning. For North Rose-Wolcott, senior Michael Statskey had the team’s only hit of the game.

Wellsville scored eight runs in the second through fourth innings combined and held on for the victory. Penn Yan attempted to rally from an 8-1 deficit with three runs in the fifth and four in the seventh.

AVON 4
Avon rallied from an early 2-0 deficit for four runs in the third and fourth innings combined. Jacob Jones hurled 6 1/3 innings, allowed six hits and struck out five batters. At the dish, the sophomore pitcher went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Ian Read came in relief in the seventh inning and earned the save. The senior pitcher was 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored. Sophomore Anthony Woodworth went 1-for-3 and crossed the plate once. For York, sophomore Clay Harris was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. “A couple fielding errors and base running blunders ultimately sank us tonight,” York head coach Edward Green commented after the game. “Overall, we fought to the end, but couldn’t overcome those early inning errors.” James Kennedy and Ben Lyness both collected two hits in three at-bats. Lyness doubled and homered.

CALEDONIA-MUMFORD 8
Troy Kolb pitched 5 2/3 innings of three-hit ball and struck out four batters to earn the win for Caledonia-Mumford. At the dish, the junior pitcher collected a hit, was hit by two pitches, drove in a run, stole a base and crossed the plate twice. Adam O’Donoghue hurled 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. The senior trio of Jake Burnett, Ethan Pies and Eric Wilson all drove in a pair of runs. Burnett and Pies both collected three hits. Burnett doubled and Pies stole two bases and crossed the plate twice. Wilson doubled as well as scored two runs. Junior Noah Carnes went 1-for-2 with a stolen base and two runs scored.

CAMPBELL-SAVONA 0 (5 INNINGS)
Senior Nate O’Brochta hurled a complete game shutout on 97 pitches.

Bolivar-Richburg scored in six of seven innings, including four in the fourth to surge to a commanding 8-1 lead. Sophomores Logan Bess and Hudson Evingham both doubled twice and drove in three runs. Bess crossed the plate twice. Evingham drew a walk and scored a run as well. Camden Graves and Alex MacDonell both had a pair of RBI and a walk. Graves went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. MacDonell was 2-for-5 with three stolen bases. Senior Micah Crump had two hits, two walks, an RBI, a stolen base and three runs scored. Junior Riley Danaher was 1-for-3 with two walks, a pair of stolen bases and an RBI. On the mound, Freshman Landon Danaher and Graves combined to allow two hits and struck out 15 batters.
