Gage Ziehl struck out nine without giving up a walk over six innings as Penfield (5-1) avenged a loss from earlier in the week. The sophomore right-hander retired 11 of the last 12 batters he faced including 10 straight at one point and did not allow a hit after the first inning. Ziehl threw 74 pitches (51 for strikes). Bobby Bradley capped a six-run second inning with a two-out double that plated Brendan Miller. Trailing 1-0, Nick Ianiello led the decisive frame with a single, and Penfield went on to trot 10 batters to the plate. Nathan Sobko followed with a walk. Peyton Pace singled to load the bases. Danny Stapleton knotted the score with an RBI single, and Miller gave the Patriots the lead with a one-out base hit. Miller finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Ianiello went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Pace and Ryan Novy both finished 2-for-3 with a run scored. Connor Stuewe drove in two runs and scored another. Jack Josephson hurled a scoreless seventh. Drew HerrNeckar singled and scored the lone Hilton run in the first. Jason Story and Tyler Cerame both singled for the Cadets. Hilton (5-3) had won five straight coming into the game.

Alex Vogt struck out four and allowed two runs on six hit over over 5.1, and Schroeder (3-5) snapped a three-game losing skid. Jack VonAhnen finished 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored to lead the Warriors offense. VonAhnen sparked a three-run fifth with a one-out single as the Warriors broke open a scoreless tie. Ben Conrow scored two runs for Schroeder. Liam Bell struck out two and walked one over an inning and two-thirds of scoreless relief. Fairport’s Tyler Holmes and Jared Drake singled and scored a run apiece for Fairport. John Tarmino and Will MacFarlane collected an RBI apiece. Jake Conklin struck out three over five innings of work and allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits.

Chad Gartland plated a two runs with a one-out double as part of five-run Irondequoit (6-3) third inning. Jose Morales reached on hit by pitch to start the decisive frame. Jaleel Davis singled. After a sacrifice bunt moved the runners, and Nick Serce was intentionally walked, Gartland connected to get the Eagles on the scoreboard. Jackson DeJohn drove in two runs and struck out five over four shutout innings in relief to pick up the save. Davis finished 2-for-2. Rush-Henrietta’s Patrick Sherron went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Andrew Sanchez walked three times and scored a run.

Santino Rosso sparked a five-run Victor first inning with a leadoff triple. Ryan Lukas followed with a double. CJ Williams and Hudson Alread connected on back-to-back singles and Matt Leonardo doubled as the first five Blue Devils reached base. Thomas responded with five runs in the home half. Jim Marasco tripled and scored on a balk. Two outs later, Caden Hann singled. Sam DeGrace doubled to drive in the second Thomas run. Matt Stuewe reached on a hit by pitch, and Greyson McDonnell doubled home a pair. Jake Veniskey followed with a double to tie the game. Titans starter Caden Hann settled in and pitched four scoreless innings to pick up the win. Hann finished with four strikeouts. In the bottom of the fourth, Jake Canfield singled, moved to third on an error and eventually scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch. The Titans added one more in the fifth when Hann doubled to lead the inning. Sam DeGrace singled. Matt Stuewe walked, and Jake Veniskey worked bases-loaded free pass for the final count. Evan Ziegelhofer hurled two scoreless innings in relief for the Titans. Ziegelhofer worked out of bases-loaded jams in the sixth and seventh innings getting a strike out to end both threats. Hann and DeGrace had two hits apiece for Thomas. Williams collected three hits for Victor. Rosso had two. hits for Victor. Webster Thomas is 4-3.

Tate Pierson and Chris Pietropaoli sparked a six-run second inning with back-to-back-doubles as Sutherland jumped to an 8-0 lead and held on to beat Eastridge. Pierson finished 2-for-4 on the day. Tyler DePaolis went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Torin Wilcox singled, scored twice and drove in a run. Connor Fitzsimmons walked, scored twice and collected an RBI. Nick Provenzale was 1-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Keeghan Cummings doubled, drove in a run and scored another. Provenzale allowed four runs (one earned) on three hits over five innings to pick up the win. Ben Ranney registered a save retiring all three batters he faced. Brendan Brown and Brady Booher both homered for Eastridge. Austin Simone finished 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored to lead the Lancers’ offense.

Casey Saucke II collected three including a double as Athena (6-1) won its second straight. Saucke, who went 3-for-4 with a walk-off home run on Wednesday, singled and scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the first on an Anthony Bonacci sacrifice fly. Ryan Dineen hurled three shutout innings in relief to pick up the win. The junior right-hander struck out one and did not allow a hit. Jared Pignato added two shutout innings of relief. Caleb Richardson finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Trojans. Zach Geist went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Jake Cerone singled and scored a run. Jagger Nucci doubled and scored. Brockport’s Troy Leibert was 2-for-3 including a double. Devyn Scheidt walked twice and had an RBI for the Blue Devils.

Hunter Walsh struck out 13 and tossed a one-hitter as McQuaid improved to 11-0 on the season. After issuing a walk to start the game, Walsh retired 12 of the next 13 batters before surrendering a one-out double in the fifth. The senior right-hander set down the final eight faced. Noah Campanelli finished 2-for-3 on the day including a leadoff solo shot in the fourth. Campanelli scored two runs. Ben Beauchamp finished with a hit and two runs scored. Tyler Griggs drove in two runs. Drew Bailey singled and collected an RBI.

Michael Conrow and Edgar Diaz combined to throw a one-hit shoutout for East. Tyrone Roundtree finished 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base to lead the East offense. Alex Figueroa had two hits, scored twice and drove in a run. Angel Silva doubled and plated two in a four-run first inning.

Reece Correa struck out 11 and allowed two hits to pick up the win as School of the Arts improved to 7-2 (7-0) on the season. Correa finshed 3-for-3 at the plate with a walk, two singles a double, four runs scored and an RBI. Brennan Johnson drove in three runs with two hits. Justin Rodriguez had a hit and drove in two. Ross Janezic singled scored three runs and drove in another. Justice Salamone closed with four strike outs over two innings of relief. Nomar Quinones led Franklin with two doubles.

Logan Holgado fanned 12 allowed and one unearned on five hits in the complete-game victory. Logan Loveless finished 3-for-3 at the plate including an RBI single to knot the game in the sixth. Loveless scored the eventual winning run two batters later on a Holgado sacrifice fly as the Eagles sent nine to the plate in the decisive inning. Josh Armstrong went 2-for-3. Caleb Kornaker singled and scored a run. Nathan McKenna had a hit and an RBI. Andrew Rossi walked and scored the lone Penn Yan run in the fifth. Peyton Shuck led the Mustangs going 2-for-3 at the plate.

Derek Slywka struck out nine and did not allow a hit over 5.2 innings to pick up the win. Slywka finished 2-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and an RBI. Brian Oddi drove in two runs going 2-for-3. Sean Bronson and Kyle Sessler went 2-for-4 apiece. Ethan Hunt had a double. Devin Hicks led Midlakes with a single and two walks.

Brendan Strong struck out eight and allowed two hits over five shutout innings to pick up the win. Strong went 1-for-2 at the plate with two walks and two runs scored. Alec Sestak paced the Rams (3-3) offense going 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored. Cayden Mattison went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Griffin Yastremski doubled, walked twice and scored two runs. Blake Hess collected two RBI. AJ Brotz walked, singled and scored.
