Outscoring opponents by a combined count of 61-8, the McQuaid Jesuit Knights went 5-0 last week (April 8th-14th). McQuaid opened the week in Buffalo with a 14-3 trouncing of Canisius (VI). By week’s end, the Jesuit Knights had hit the road for Florida where the Knights took four more including a 13-0 win over Medomak Valley (Waldboro, ME). Drew Bailey, Ben Beauchamp, Noah Campanelli and Tyler Griggs pace the Knights offense from the top of the order. Patrick Xander hurled a three-hit shutout in a 13-0 win over Medomak Valley (ME). Hunter Walsh and Sean Richards combined on a four-hit shutout when the Knights beat New Smyrna Beach (FL), 10-0. McQuaid improved to 8-0 on the season.
We didn’t forget about… the Livonia Bulldogs. Two years removed from winning the NYSPHSAA Class B title, Livonia won three games last week and improved to 5-0 on the season. Alex Minnehan is 2-0. Dale Werth’s Canandaigua Braves won both outings last season and improved to 3-0 on the season. Michael Sculli hurled a no-hitter in the Braves 2-0 win over OH Platt (CT). Bath-Haverling scored 34 runs on 31 hits over two wins last week.
