Fair paces Edison Tech girls

Dyaisha Fair led three in double figures, and the Edison Tech girls basketball team won its second straight game with a 70-50 victory over School of the Arts in RCAC action, Monday night.

Fair connected seven times behind the 3-point arc and finished with a game-high 30 points. The junior guard, who recently committed to continue her career at the University of Buffalo, scored 10 points in the third quarter when the Inventors pulled away from SOTA.

Djeynaba Thiam tallied nine of her 12 points in the second quarter when Edison (3-2) took a commanding lead. Five different players produced points in the stanza ,and the Inventors outscored SOTA 21-7 to take a 37-16 lead into the locker room.

Daulette Ackers added nine of her 11 points in the first half.

SOTA’s India Jordan connected on five 3-pointers and led the Silverhawks (4-2) with 25 points. Tionnie Spain added 12.

Other scorers: Edison – Shamaria Burrows (6), Rhonda Thomas (5), Nashirah Plaza-Johnson (2) and Ayishah Best (2). SOTA – Eysha Clarke (4), Regina’Li Quinones (2), Evelyse Burgos (2), Ashanti Carter (2) and Skiasai Washington (1).
