The last weekend of September offers plenty of intrigue with regular season finale now two weeks away. One Class A team has turned its season around. Two teams ranked among the state’s best look to keep their unbeaten records intact against league rivals, and a pair of contenders meet in a non-league tilt. Here are some this weekend’s best matchups in Section V boys’ soccer.

Williamson has outscored opponents 36-8 in seven since the last meeting. The Marauders, though, needed overtime to squeak past Sodus earlier this week. Was that a wake up call? Franciso Cordova and Matthew Gonzales have seven goals and four assists apiece for Marion.

Greece Athena (5-1-3/5-0-2) at McQuaid (6-1-1/2-0-0) 6 PM

McQuaid went on the road this week and avenged an previous setback when they beat perennial state power Canisius (VI), 1-0.
