ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Half the Edison Tech goals this season have come from seniors Malik Musa and Mabrook Saleh. That trend continued Tuesday.
The pair combined for all three goals in a 3-o Edison win over Wilson Magnet in RCAC action at the Trent Jackson Memorial Athletic Complex on the campus of Franklin High School.

Saleh redirected a Rey Arizmendi cross late in the first half to start the scoring. Six minutes later, Musa connected on a free kick and the Inventors (7-2-2/4-1-0) were on their way to a fourth straight win including a 3-2 victory over Webster Thomas on Saturday.
“They have some chemistry together,” Edison coach AJ Maio said. “They play summer soccer together. They know where each other is at all times.”
Saleh leads Edison with 10 goals and eight assists. Musa accounts for seven markers and three helpers.

“Their first touch is always a good touch,” Maio explained. “It’s explosive. They might not be the fastest, but their first touch definitely gives them an advantage to beat their defender or beat the goalie.”
Edison’s defense has registered four shutouts this season including Tuesday’s win. Maio pointed out the efforts of Arizmendi who started the season in the midfield before moving to sweeper.
“Last year he was our sweeper. We were giving up some goals that we shouldn’t have given up. I moved him back and we’ve held things down back there. Two goals to Webster Thomas and no goals today. It’s been a great improvement with him back there.”
