CJ Wiest (Brockport) and Nick Ianiello (Penfield) connected on back-to-back singles to lead off the fifth as DI Red broke open a one-run game with a pair of tallies. Wiest finished 2-for-3 on the night and scored on a Ryan Coughlin (Greece Athena) base hit to left center. Ianiello also collected two hits including a double and crossed home twice. Ianniello started, struck out four and walked two over three innings to pick up the win. The right-hander allowed two runs on five hits. Coughlin went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in the seventh. Dylan Mackenzie (Canandaigua) finished 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI. He also fanned three in two shutout innings of relief.

Christian Blatter (McQuaid) accounted for an RBI as Red added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth. Blatter finished with two hits. Armani Malinka (Greece Arcadia) hurled a scoreless inning of relief. DI Green’s Nick Bovee (Brighton) went 3-for-3 with two triples, an RBI and a run scored.

Peyton Pace capped a three-run fourth with an RBI double as Penfield sent seven to the plate and snapped a one-all game. Colin Pichany started the frame with a base on balls. TJ Burch reached on an infield single, and Josh Armstrong provided the go-ahead run with another infield hit. With runners on second and third, Kenny Jacoby singled to center to make it a 3-1 game. Penfield could have added more runs, but DII Blue’s Zach Allen (Greece Athena) cleanly fielded the single on the bounce and fired a strike  on one hop to erase a possible score at home. It was one of three plays at the plate in the game where the defense had the upper hand. Armstrong finished 2-for-3 with a triple. Zach Caper allowed one run on three hits over two innings and picked up the win. Ian McNabb (Webster Thomas) started for Blue and allowed one run on one hit over three innings. The left-hander struck out six and stranded a runner on third in both the first and second innings.

Carlos Fantauzzi (Canandaigua) collected the lone Blue RBI when he plated Mekhi Stevens (McQuaid) with a double in the fourth. Stevens rapped a two-out single. Max Heil (Webster Thomas) walked and Fantauzzi sent a one-one pitch to deep left field. Armstrong limited the damages for Penfield when he combined on a relay with Andrew Olsen and George Finter to keep the second run from scoring on the play. Fantauzzi threw out a runner at home for the final out of the Penfield fifth. Both Burch and Olsen struck out two over two shutout innings for Penfield. Devin Cannon (Spencerport) hurled a scoreless frame for Blue.
