Frank Lauricella did double duty in Brockport’s three wins. Spencerport’s Jason Nau continued his torrid hitting. Ethan Putney hurled Churchville-Chili to its first divisional win, and Tommy Ryan anchored a pair of Victor triumphs. The quartet earned Player of the Week honors for April 8-15 as selected by the Monroe County coaches.
Lauricella hurled nine innings and produced eight runs to earn Monroe County Division III Player of the Week. The left-hander struck out six and allowed one run on one hit over four innings in the Blue Devils 4-3 win over league rival Canandaigua. He closed the week surrendering an unearned run on two hits over five innings in Brockport’s 6-4 victory over Hilton. At the plate, the senior finished the week with four hits including a double, five RBI and three runs scored.
Nau and Putney shared Division II honors. Nau finished the week with six hits in nine at bats including a pair of doubles to go with two walks. The junior currently leads the division hitting .529. He also logged five solid innings on the mound against Victor surrendering three runs on five hits.
Putney tossed six innings in C-C’s 4-3 win over Webster Thomas. The junior fanned five in the league win. Putney also finished the week with four hits.
Ryan collected two doubles, a home run and eight RBI in a pair of Victor wins to grab Division I POTW. He finished the week going 5-for-9 at the plate. The senior catcher also did not allow a stolen base for the week.
