Red Wings to Host First Plates Mile on July 5

ROCHESTER, NY – The Rochester Red Wings have partnered with YellowJacket Racing to bring runners and plate aficionados together for the first Plates Mile at Frontier Field on Thursday, July 5 after the Wings host the Pawtucket Red Sox at 5:05 p.m.

Participants will eat four 10 oz. Trash Cans while running one mile around Frontier Field, beginning and ending on the field. Trash Cans consist of mac salad, home fries and meat hot sauce. The race will start approximately 45 minutes after the completion of the game.

Registration is $30 and includes:

·        one ticket to the July 5 game

·        four, 10 oz. Trash Cans

·        official race t-shirt

·        chip timing by YellowJacket Racing 

The only way to register for the race is HERE. Participants will have the ability to purchase extra tickets to the July 5 game for $5 and additional race t-shirts for $15 when they register. The race will be capped at 300 runners.

If the game is rained out before open at 4 p.m., the race will start at 6:30 p.m. If the game is called after the gates open, the race will start approximately 45 minutes after the game has been officially called/postponed.
