Teammates Jared Petrichick and Jake Ring posted nearly identical numbers. Freshman Gage Ziehl announced his arrival. The trio garnered Monroe County Player of the Week honors for April 2nd-8th.
Petrichick and Ring led Mendon to a pair of wins and shared Division III honors. Both Vikings hit .692 for the week with nine hits including a pair of doubles. Petrichick collected three walks, five RBI and nine runs scored. Ring drove in four runs during the week. Mendon is scheduled to host Honeoye Falls-Lima on Friday for a 3 PM start.
Ziehl finished the week 7-for-13 with a home run, a double, six runs scored and two RBI to earn Division I POTW. His first career round-tripper sparked a three-run eighth as Penfield closed their week in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with a 4-1 victory over Powdersville. Ziehl opened Penfield’s week on the mound striking out five in a 10-3 win over West Seneca East (VI). Penfield is scheduled to play at Rush-Henrietta on Wednesday, April 11. A 4:30 PM first pitch is scheduled.
