BUFFALO, N.Y. (April 3, 2018) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled forwards Alexander Nylander and Kevin Porter from the Rochester Americans (AHL).
Both Nylander (6’1”, 192 lbs., 3/2/1998) and Porter (6’0”, 190 lbs., 3/12/1986) are joining the Sabres for the first time this season.
Buffalo’s first-round pick (8th overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft, Nylander recorded one assist in four games for the Sabres after making his NHL debut last season. Currently in his second pro season, the Calgary, Alberta native has 54 points (17+37) in 113 career games for the Amerks, including eight points (2+6) in his last eight contests.
Signed by Buffalo on July 1, Porter currently ranks third among Rochester skaters with 40 points (16+24) in 64 games this season. The Detroit, Michigan native has totaled 58 points (29+29) in 249 career NHL games and added 290 points (111+179) in 421 career AHL games.
