Amerks ink Peterson to amateur tryout

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Rochester Americans General Manager Randy Sexton announced today that the team has signed forward Judd Peterson to an Amateur Tryout (ATO).

Peterson, 24, recently concluded a four-year collegiate career at St. Cloud State University (NCHC), where he finished with 65 points (37+28) in 151 games with the Huskies. This past season, Peterson scored six goals and added a career-high 12 assists in 40 games while helping the team to an NCHC championship as well as an appearance in the NCAA tournament. Peterson served as one of two team captains and was named a finalist for the 2018 Senior CLASS Award.

A two-time All-NCHC All-Academic selection, the 6-foot-0, 193-pound forward set career-highs in both goals (16) and points (23) while skating in 38 games as a sophomore. He finished the campaign ranked third among all St. Cloud forwards in goals and seventh in points.

Prior to attending St. Cloud University, the Duluth, Minn., native played two seasons with the Cedar Rapids Roughriders (USHL) from 2012 until 2014. In 93 career games with the Roughriders, Peterson amassed 57 points on 27 goals and 30 assists.

Peterson was originally drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the seventh round (204th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
