LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell senior center Nana Foulland has been named The Rock Patriot League Player of the Week after a terrific performance at VCU on Saturday. Foulland matched his career highs with 23 points and four assists, and he set a new personal best with 14 rebounds in an 85-79 loss to the Rams.
On Bucknell’s very first offensive possession of the game, Foulland missed a shot but immediately tipped it back in, and he never missed again. He finished 9-for-10 from the field and 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Foulland had his 17th career double-double by halftime, and he also blocked a pair of shots to move into the top 10 on the Patriot League’s career blocks chart with 166.
Foulland, the reigning Patriot League Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, now has 1,399 career points, 12th-most in Bucknell history, and 725 rebounds, which ranks 11th in team annals. He is averaging 16.1 points and 5.7 rebounds while shooting 59.8 percent from the field on the season.
Bucknell has already claimed five Patriot League weekly awards this season. Zach Thomas has been Player of the Week three times, and Jimmy Sotos earned Rookie of the Week honors on Nov. 27.
Now 4-7 against the seventh-most-difficult schedule in the country to date, the Bison next visit Richmond on Tuesday night.
