RIT’s Gabe Valenzuela named Atlantic Hockey Player of the Month

ROCHESTER, NY – Junior forward Gabe Valenzuela (Brampton, Ontario/North York Rangers) of the RIT men’s hockey team was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Player of the Month for Nov., 2017 on Wednesday.

Valenzuela led all RIT players with 11 points on four goals and seven assists and was plus-7 in a 4-3-0 month. He had five consecutive multiple-point games. Valenzuela had a goal and an assist in a 5-3 win over AIC and scored both RIT goals the following night. He then dished out four assists and was plus-4 in a weekend sweep over Robert Morris on Nov. 10-11. On Nov. 17, Valenzuela tied a career-high with three points on a goal and two assists in a 4-3 loss at Air Force.

Overall, Valenzuela has 15 points on five goals and 10 assists and is plus-3 in 14 games played this season.

RIT returns to action on Friday and Saturday with a pair of road games at No. 9 Providence College of Hockey East. Friday’s game begins at 7:15 p.m., while Saturday’scontest starts at 7:05 p.m.
