Bishop Kearney’s Quinton Rose notched his first career collegiate double-double. Greece Athena’s Anthony Lamb matched a career high. Both Section V alums helped their respective schools to early-season tournament titles.
Rose netted 10 points and corralled a game-high 11 rebounds as Temple defeated Clemson, 67-60 to take Gildan Charleston Classic championship. The sophomore guard averaged 16.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and four assists over the three games to earn All-Tournament team honors. Read more here.
Rose and Temple play La Salle this Sunday. The 5 p.m. tip off will be televised on NBCSN. The Owls play South Carolina, a Final Four participant from a year ago, on November 30 and Wisconsin on December 6th. Both games can be seen on ESPNU.
Lamb dropped 26 on 10-of-14 shooting from the floor including two of three behind the arc to lead Vermont to a 66-64 victory over Northern Kentucky in the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase championship. The sophomore forward grabbed 14 rebounds, handed out two assists and had three steals. Read more here.
Lamb, the 2016-17 America East Rookie of the Year, is averaging 13 points and seven rebounds through four games this season. Vermont plays at Marquette on December 5th. The 7 p.m. tip will be televised on FS1. Lamb returns to the Blue Cross Arena on December 16th when the Catamounts take on St. Bonaventure. A 4 p.m. start time is scheduled.

Antwoine Anderson (Bishop Kearney) is averaging 11 points, three rebounds and three assists through three games for UConn (3-0). The Huskies take on Oregon in the first round of the PK80 Invitational Thanksgiving night. The 9 p.m. start is televised on ESPNU.
Dontay Caruthers (East High) is scoring eight points, grabbing 3.5 rebounds and handing out 3.5 assists through two games for the UB Bulls. UB (2-0) takes on No. 12 Cincinnati in the opening round of the Cayman Islands Classic, Monday night.
Nahziah Carter (Bishop Kearney) is averaging 5.5 points and two rebounds for Washington (2-2). The Huskies host Seattle on Friday, November 24th and eventually meet No.4 Kansas on December 6th. The 9 p.m. tip will televised on ESPN2.
Rochesterians @qrose_3 (for Temple vs. Auburn), @dey_much (for Iona vs. Weber State) and @_ClutchCarter (for Washington vs. Virginia Tech) all scored in double figures yesterday. That trio of @sectvbb products combined for 43 points on 8/13 3FG in those games.

Deyshonee Much (Gates-Chili) is scoring 12.4 points per game for Iona (1-4) while collecting three rebounds and 3.2 assists. The Gaels play at Ohio November 28th and host Fairleigh Dickinson on December 2nd. Both games can bee seen on ESPN3.
Webster Schroeder’s Emmitt Holt (Providence) has been sidelined with an abdominal injury. The senior forward has not yet practiced with the Friars this season.
