SCRANTON, Pennsylvania – Mwalizi Mutambo and James Weh had a goal and an assist apiece, and the MCC men’s soccer team erupted for five second-half goals en route to a 7-0 victory over host Lackawanna College Saturday afternoon.

It was the second time this season the Tribunes (4-3-1) have scored five goals in the second half of a road victory. Monroe also did it in a 5-1, come-from-behind win over Ulster on Sept. 10.

This time was different, as it was Monroe which led throughout. Mutambo and Mewah Nyeayea scored in the first half to give the Tribunes a 2-nil lead at the break.

MCC then took command over the final 45 minutes. Weh scored, as did Kevin Kabongo, Anthony Paris, James Weh, and Andriy Demydiv.

Matt Murray, Jordan Sullivan, Ryan Gray, and Cameron Welling added assists on the afternoon.

The defense did the rest, keeping the Falcons from mounting any sustained attack. Kyle Bimek stopped two shots for the shutout in goal.
