Between milestones, the Hall of Fame induction and trades, MLB’s biggest headlines took place off the field on Sunday.
Jeff Bagwell, Ivan Rodriguez, Tim Raines, Bud Selig and John Schuerholz etched their names into baseball history after being inducted into the Hall of Fame on Sunday afternoon. Adrian Beltre wasted no time needing only four at-bats between his 2999th and 3000th hit. The third baseman is the 31st player with 3000 career hits in MLB. For the second time in four days, Steve Pearce launched a grand slam for a walk-off win for the Toronto Blue Jays. It capped a seven-run rally in the bottom of the ninth.

BRONX, NY- The Tampa Bay bullpen starred as the Rays reliever corps pitched five innings of one-hit shutout ball against the Yankees. Recently acquired Lucas Duda continued his recent hot streak going 1-for-3 with two walks and a run scored.

TORONTO- Pearce’s blast helped the Blue Jays climb out of a 10-4 hole. Kevin Pillar and Ezequiel Carrera also homered for Toronto. Albert Pujols hit two home runs in a losing effort for the Angels.

Miami Marlins (49-54) 4
MIAMI- Rookie starter Luis Castillo earned his second win of the season for the Reds following a dominant eight-inning performance. The 6-foot-2 pitcher from the Dominican Republic allowed one run on three hits and struck out six. Catcher Tucker Barnhart added two hits and drove in three.

DETROIT, MI- In what could have been his last start in a Tigers uniform, given the trade rumors swirling around, Justin Verlander pitched six innings of shutout ball striking out six. Justin Upton finished the night 4-for-5 with a grand slam, double and six RBI.

Philadelphia Philles (38-64) 2
PHILADELPHIA- With the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, Freddy Galvis singled to right field to give the Phillies their fourth straight win. Vince Velasquez did not factor into the decision but threw seven shutout innings for Philadelphia. It was the Braves fourth straight loss.

Washington Nationals (61-41) 6
WASHINGTON D.C.- All-Stars Charlie Blackmon, DJ LeMahieu and Nolan Arenado combined to go 10-for-13 with five RBI and six runs scored for Colorado. Ryan Zimmerman homered and drove in four in the loss for the Nationals. After the game, the Rockies announced that the team had acquired former All-Star catcher Jonathan Lucroy from the Texas Rangers in an effort to bolster their lineup and give the rookie pitchers a veteran to work with.

BOSTON- Alex Gordon hit a two-run triple in the eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie with Boston. Lorenzo Cain, Salvador Perez and Alcides Escobar all had multi-hit games to help Kansas City get its 10th win in the last 11 games.
Cleveland Indians (57-46) 1
Chicago White Sox (40-62) 3
CHICAGO- Matt Davidson hit a two-run walk-off home run to end the Indians nine-game winning streak. White Sox starter Carlos Rondon struck out nine batters in six-and-two-thirds innings pitched. Cleveland starter Josh Tomlin was removed from the game in the top of the fifth after throwing four no-hit innings striking out five.

MILWAUKEE, WI- The Cubs continued their hot streak since the All-Star break and extended the lead in the division. Defending MVP Kris Bryant hit his 20th home run of the season and the Chicago bullpen pitched three innings of shutout ball to seal the win.
Arizona Diamondbacks (60-45) 2
St. Louis Cardinals (52-53) 3
ST. LOUIS- Lance Lynn improved to 9-6 on the season in what could turn out to be his final start for St. Louis with the trade deadline approaching. Rookie Jose Martinez stood out as the hero for the Cardinals going 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.
Balitmore Orioles (50-54) 10

ARLINGTON, TX- Beltre’s 3000th hit was not enough to propel the Rangers to the victory. Two-thirds of the Orioles starting lineup had multi-hit games tallying 13 hits against Texas. Rougned Ordor’s five RBI could not prevent the Rangers from losing their second straight game.
Minnesota Twins (50-53) 5
Oakland Athletics (46-59) 6, 12 innings
OAKLAND, CA- For the second straight night, the A’s hit a walk-off home run to beat Minnesota. Yonder Alonso hit his 22nd round tripper of the season to send the Twins to their seventh loss in the last 10 games. Jaycob Brugman had three hits and a home run in the win for the Athletics.
New York Mets (48-55) 1
Seattle Mariners (53-53) 9
SEATTLE, WA- Early home runs from Nelson Cruz and Leonys Martin helped the Mariners jump on Mets pitcher Seth Lugo in the first two innings of the game. Seattle moves to .500 following back-to-back wins and pulls within 3.5 games of the Wild Card.
Pittsburgh Pirates (51-54) 7
San Diego Padres (47-58) 1
SAN DIEGO, CA- Andrew McCutchen hit three solo home runs to help the Pirates raise the Jolly Roger in California. Gerrit Cole pitched seven innings of one-run ball. He struck out eight batters to improve to 9-7 on the season.
San Francisco Giants (40-66) 2
Los Angeles Dodgers (74-31) 3, 11 innings
LOS ANGELES- Kyle Farmer stepped up to the plate with two runners on base and his team trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the 11th inning—oh and it was his Major League debut. In his first career at-bat, Farmer hit a two-run walk-off double to right field to give Los Angeles its seventh straight win.
