Red Wings beat Chiefs in Sunday matinee

 The Rochester Red Wings beat the Syracuse Chiefs 6-5 Sunday afternoon at Frontier Field.

Matt Tracy made his first start for the Red Wings, after being promoted from Double-A Chattanooga. Tracy worked around three hits in the first two innings but did not allow a run.

The Red Wings got on the board in the second inning against Chiefs starter Dustin Antolin. A single from Niko Goodrum was followed by a double from ByungHo Park. J.B. Shuck’s triple drove in both runners. John Ryan Murphy‘s sacrifice fly scored Schuck for a 3-0 Wings lead.

The Wings scored two more runs in the third inning. Matt Hague drew a walk, followed by a double by Tommy Field. Both Park and Schuck added hits, and the Wings led 5-0.

The Chiefs got on the scoreboard in the fourth, starting with a home run from Butler. A two-run home run by Jhonatan Solano made the score 5-3.

Zack Granite kept the Wings rolling in the fourth with a leadoff double, upping his hit streak to 11 games. Hague’s sacrifice fly scored Granite and extended the Wings lead to 6-3.

Tracy finished his first outing with the Wings retiring the last five in a row. Tracy pitched 5.0 innings and gave up six hits, three earned runs and two walks. Tracy struck out four and threw 91 pitches – 56 for strikes.

The Chiefs picked up two runs off Trevor Hildenberger making it a 6-5 ball game.

Alan Busenitz worked the eighth inning, and Ryan Pressly pitched the ninth and picked up his first save.
