Zack Carpin and Tommy Ryan combined for six hits and four RBI as Victor (12-9) advanced to meet top-seed Webster Schroeder in Monday’s quarter-finals. Chris Varone highlighted a six-run first with a bases-clearing triple, and the Blue Devils never looked back. Carpin was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Ryan was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Louie Schafer went 3-for-3. Santino Rosso finished 2-for-4 with a double. Andrew Westbrook and Nate Hampson combined to get the victory. David Stirpe and Morgan Kunigan had two hits for Hilton (6-15). Victor will travel to Basket Road Park to play for 4:30 pm first pitch against the top-ranked team in the state.

George Gines turned in a dominating performance finishing a double short of the cycle and throwing a complete game for the win. The junior went 4-for-5 on the night with a two-run home run in the first and an RBI triple later in the game. A 10-run first inning got things going for Gananda. Big offensive games from Jourdan Plaisted, who was 5-for-5 with five RBI. Cody Hill went 5-for-6 with two RBI. Tim McClare was 3-for-5 with two RBI, and Zach Ciprich was 2-for-2 with three walks and two RBI. Tim McClare pitched five innings for the win, striking out nine and allowing two hits and one run.Gananda plays the winner of the Geneseo/Bloomfield game next Tuesday in the semi finals.
