Class A2 opens with three games on Thursday. Action continues Friday with the quarter-final round.

No. 1 seed SCHOOL OF THE ARTS (12-5)

Players to watch: Alfredo Aponte (.347, 17R, 14RBI, 20SB, .508OBP/5-0, 2.86ERA), Reece Correra (.475, 26R, 21RBI, 6-3B, 20SB, .548OBP, .786SLG/2SV, 36K), Ross Janezic (.444, 24R, 21RBI, 19SB, .549OBP, .648SLG/2-0, 23K, 9BB, 2.76 ERA, .191 BAA), Brennen Johnson (3-0, 2SV, 41K, 7BB) and Justice Salamone (24R, 11RBI).

What to know: SOTA is a resilient group that absorbed losses at key positions during the season.

No. 2 seed BATAVIA (12-3)

Players to watch: Chandler Baker (.457, 11RBI, 21R, 2-2B, .528OBP), AJ Marcello (.400, 14RBI, 13R, 4-2B), Casey Radka (Sr. P 7-0, 48IP, 46K, 1.31 ERA, 1.04 WHIP/.333. 14RBI, 18R) and Jerry Reinhardt (.489, 19RBI, 9XBH, 14R, .583OBPSr SS/3B reigning Monroe County D-4 Player of the Week).

What to know: Blue Devils lost in last year’s A2 final and finished undefeated in Monroe County D-4 this season.

No. 3 seed PITTSFORD SUTHERLAND (11-9)

Players to watch: Max Carver, Jack Zielinski and Nate Richardson.

What to know: Sutherland finished 6-4 in Monroe County D-3 play this season.

No. 4 seed MONROE (8-10)

Players to watch: Gregory Romero (So. .356, 10 RBI, 23R, 6-2B, 2-3B), Christian Sanchez (Sr. .373, 20RBI, 25R) and Victor Torres (Sr. .533, 32RBI, 38R, 17XBH including 2HR).

What to know: Redjackets won three straight to close the regular season.

No. 5 seed GENEVA (8-10)

Players to watch: Racer Lynch, Kyle Pierce and Curtis Schultz.

What to know: Geneva had a 5-9 in Finger Lakes East play.

No. 6 seed HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA (6-10)

Players to watch: Owen VanNewkirk (C, .373, 8-2B, 1HR), Noah Wheeler (3B, .388, 8-2B, 1HR) and Carson Correll (P, 3W including complete game shut out of Brockport).

No.7 seed WILSON MAGNET (5-11)

Players to watch: Finbar Gallivan (Sr. Captain, P, 5-0, 2.60 ERA/ .384, .691 OBP), Joey DeMeyer (Jr. C .348-including .522 over last four games), James Baldrich (Jr. SS/P .407 over last four games), Carlos Crus (Sr. CF), David Stefko (Sr. Captain, C/1B). Up-and-comers  include Tommy Chen, Hector Riguard, Joshua Johnson, Duane Henry, Jaidon Daymon and Tyshawn Wooden.

No. 8 seed AQUINAS (7-12)

Players to watch: Trey Brown (.400, 10 XBH 1 HR), Mikey Hernandez (.350, 1HR/ 2W), James Huber (2 HR, 15 RBI).

What to know: The reigning A2 champions won four of seven to close the regular season.

No. 9 seed WAYNE (5-12)

Players to watch: Sean Flannery (.365, 7-2B, 1-3B), Tom Bolt (27IP, 28K/ .377), Logan Holgado (41IP, 36K, 1.86ERA, 2-4).

What to know: Wayne lost five of six to close the regular season.

No. 10 seed GREECE OLYMPIA (4-14)

Players to watch: Joey Alphonse (Fr. P/SS), Johnny Carson (Sr. P/OF), Jason Lovullo (Jr. 1B/3B) and Zack Wright (So. 2B/OF).

What to know: Olympia started the season 4-3.

No. 11 seed NE DOUGLASS

Players to watch: Luis Colon (.394, 7R, 8RBI, 4-2B), Ramon Cruz (.279, 7R, 5RBI) and Jordan Rotolo (6RBI, 2-2B, HR).
