ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – For the second time this season, St. Bonaventure junior David Hollins has earned Atlantic 10 Baseball Player of the Week honors, conference officials announced Monday.
Hollins helped lead the Bonnies to a pair of wins in three games this past week, batting 7-for-10 with three home runs and five RBI.
The Bona third baseman homered in all three of the Bonnies’ games this week and now has six on the season, which is the most any SBU player has had since 2010.
In the Bonnies 6-5 win over Richmond on Saturday, Hollins went 3-for-4 with two extra-base hits – a double and a home run.
A native of Orchard Park who played his first two seasons of college ball at St. Petersburg College in Florida after being drafted by the Detroit Tigers out of high school, Hollins is batting .287 with 23 RBIs in his first year with the program.
St. Bonaventure picked up wins in both games it played against Richmond this weekend for its fifth-straight A-10 series win. The Bonnies are now 14-6 in Atlantic 10 action and sit in third place in the conference.
The Bonnies will be off until Friday when the team visits Delaware State for a doubleheader.
