Freshman Tyler Curtis pitched five innings and scattered four hits for his first Varsity win. Trevor O’Neil collected three RBI while Ryan Ballard and Jake Kimble both had two hits. Jason Lovallo connected on a two-run home run for Olympia.
Brighton 10 HF-L 4
Trent Wasserman allowed one earned run and struck out 10 over six innings for the win. Andrew Zibuck was 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored. Brandon LaFountain was 1-for-3 with a single and two RBI for the Barons (2-0). Noah Wheeler paced HF-L (2-2) going 2-for-3 with a double.
Casimer Sobaszek struck out six over four innings for the win. The finished 3-for-4 with an RBI at the plate. Zach Harter continued his torrid pace going 2-for-2 with two doubles and four RBI. Lucas Haefner added two hits for R-H (3-0/2-0).
Ray Mineo allowed one run on four hits over six innings to pick up his first varsity win. Mineo finished 2-for-2 with two RBI at the plate.
Gananda 4 East Rochester 0
Tim McClare threw a complete game no hitter striking out 13 and walking two. McClare also finished 2-for-2 with two walks, a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Cody Hill went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Jayden Castrechini went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs scored. Gananda notched two runs in the first when Castrechini reached on an error before he stole second and third base. McClare drove him in with a double. McClare advanced to third on a Cody Hill ground out and eventually scored on a passed ball. The Panthers added two in the third. Castrechini singled to left and, again, stole second and third. McClare walked, and Hill delivered a two-run single to center for the final margin of victory.
Alex Savory pitched a perfect game. Savory set down 21 straight batters as he struck out 13 on 75 pitches for the win. At the plate, Daniel Johnson finished 3-for-4 with 2 RBI. Chris Sergeant was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
James Huber led the Li’l Irish going 1-for-2 with an RBI, and Jack Scanlon finished 1-for-1. The game was played in Baltimore, Maryland.
