Barber clips Hilton. Cooper and Canandaigua walk off, and the Rangers get one

Rush-Henrietta 9 Hilton 2
Hunter Barber surrendered three hits, struck out eight and walked one over five innings for the win. Zach Harter paced the Royal Comets offense going 3-for-4 with a double, triple and an RBI. Chris Reed was 2-for-3 with a double and a 2-run home run. Lucas Haefner went 2-for-4 and got the save. R-H improved to 2-0 on the season.

Victor 17 Penfield 4
Andrew Westbrook struck out five over five innings of work for the win. He allowed three earned runs on six hits.  Santino Rosso paced the Victor offense going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Louie Schafer was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Chris Varone and Ryan Lukas each had two hits. Victor improved to 2-1. Penfield fell to 1-2.
Spencerport 6 Irondequoit 2
Raymond Richards allowed two runs on four hits over 5.1 innings and earned his first varsity victory. The junior  struck out three. Nicholas Dennison capped a four-run fourth inning with an RBI single as Spencerport took a lead it did not surrender. Aidan Eldridge brought home the first run of the inning with a fielder’s choice. Joshua Brase singled in a run, and Tim LaDuca brought in another with a sacrifice fly. Christopher Carroll gave Spencerport a lead with a run-scoring single in the second.  Cameron Cirasuolo drove in a run for Irondequoit in the sixth.  Nicholas Bellone and Jarod Barnard came out of the bullpen for the Rangers. Spencerport collected 11 hits with Dennison, Brase, and Carroll each getting multiple hits.
Fairport 19 Gates Chili 5
Tyler Smith struck out three over four innings of work for the win. Omar Rosa led the Fairport offense going 3-for-5 with five RBI and five runs scored. Tyler Holmes was 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Mike Sabatine went 3-for-4 with two RBI and four runs. Gates-Chili’s Sean Zimmerman and two hits in three trips to the plate and scored two runs. Tyler Carpenter was 2-for-2 and drove in two.
Canandaigua 4 Mendon  3
Tanner Cooper finished 2-for-3 including a walk-off RBI triple as Canandaigua improved to 5-0 on the season. Cooper delivered Seth Vigneri from first base for the game winner. Sophomore Mike Sculli fanned nine over six innings of work for the Braves. Hayden Roeder and Conner Fisher had an RBI apiece for Canandaigua. Colin Smith drove in two in the top of the seventh to tie the score for Mendon (0-3).
Brockport 7 Greece Athena 2
Noah Schultz allowed one run on four hits over six innings for the win, and Gordon Fisher paced the Brockport offense with four hits, two RBI and a walk. Quinlan Ignaszak highlighted a four-run first with an RBI single as the Blue Devils took advantage of five walks. Sam Velletri finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Frank Lauricella was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Athena’s Ryan Ballard was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. James Sciortino was 1-for-3 with a double, walk and a run scored.
Greece Olympia Spartans 10 School of the Arts 6
Joey Alphonse allowed three runs on four hits to pick up the win in his first varsity start. The freshman struck out 11 batters over six innings. Junior Jason LoVullo was 2-for-3 at the plate, including a double and three RBI. Sophomore Zac Wright scored three times for the Spartans. Olympia (2-2) plays at Athena on Thursday. A 4:30 PM first pitch is scheduled. ​
Greece Arcadia 6 Churchville-Chili 2
Thomas Finnerty hurled five strong and delivered the eventual game-winning hit as Greece Arcadia came from behind to defeat Churchville-Chili. READ MORE.

Webster Schroeder 8 Webster Thomas 7
Phil Ferranti paced a 10-hit attack going 3-for-5 including a run-scoring single in the first inning as Schroeder jumped out to 3-0 lead. Shane Marshall went 2-for-4 and sparked a three-run second with a one-out double. Tommy Baxter collected four walks, two RBI and scored two runs. Marshall worked 2.1 for the save. Josh Simons picked up the win going 4.2 innings.

In the top of the fifth, Webster Thomas sophmore Devin Mulcahy hit a bases clearing double to cut the lead to 7-5.  Ryan Hill and Ethan Maltman started the seventh with back-to-back singles to start a rally for Thomas.  After two outs were recorded, Mulcahy had an infield single to make it 8-6.  Then Ryan Carragher followed with another run-scoring single to make it 8-7 with runners on first and second and two outs.  Marshall ended the game with a strike out. Mulcahy finished 3-for-4 with four RBI. Damian Wright was 2-for-4. Carragher went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

East Rochester 18 Red Creek 0
Austin Mack, Corwyn Cleveland and Owen Reiss all had one double each as E.R. pounded out a dozen hits. Jacob Sturm picked up the win. Mack, Cleveland and Sturm collected two hits apiece. Andrew Chilelli also had two base raps. The Bombers played errorless ball. Red Creek had four hits.  Damin Jones, Zach Jones, Max Hanford and Nick Klein had one each.

Gananda 4 North Rose Wolcott 3
Gananda’s Zach Ciprich started and allowed three runs over five innings. Austin Jacobs pitched the final two innings for the win. Gananda took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second when Ciprich reached on an error, advanced to second on a Jacobs base hit and then scored when Nick Stange reached on a fielder’s choice.
North Rose scored three in the top of the third. Mason Van Fleet, Conner Leous and Jorden Brown all crossed the plate.
Jayden Castrechini singled in the third, advanced to second on a fielder’s choice and stole third before coming home on a Tim McClare RBI ground out.
Gananda tied it up in the bottom of the sixth when Jourdan Plaisted scored after getting on base with a walk, advanced to second on a base hit Ciprich. Plaisted then stole third base and eventually scored on a double steal first and third situation.
In the bottom of the seventh Drew Miale got on by an error, advanced to second when McClare was hit by a pitch and then was driven in on a game winning base hit from Plaisted.
Jourdan Plaisted finished 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Cody Welkley went the distance for North Rose Wolcott giving up six hits and striking out six.
