ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure junior David Hollins has earned Atlantic 10 Baseball Player of the Week honors, conference officials announced Monday.

Hollins turned in a performance for the history books on Sunday, highlighting a tremendous start to A-10 play. He set what are believed to be the program records for hits and RBI in a single game after going 6-for-6 with eight RBIs to lead the Bonnies to a 17-4 victory over Davidson.

Included in Sunday’s stellar outing were four extra-base hits – three doubles and a home run.

In all, he hit .667 (8-for-12) with a .714 on-base percentage and 1.417 slugging percentage during the three-game series at Davidson, finishing with two home runs and nine RBIs. He has not been retired in his last nine plate appearances, going 7-for-7 with a walk and a hit by pitch during that span.

A native of Orchard Park who played his first two seasons of college ball at St. Petersburg College in Florida after being drafted by the Detroit Tigers out of high school, Hollins is hitting .304 with a team-high 14 RBIs in his first year with the program.

The Bonnies continue Atlantic 10 play with a trip to Saint Louis Friday through Sunday.
