HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Freshman guard Blake Spellman has been released from the Northern Kentucky University men’s basketball team in order to be close to home and focus on personal matters.

“After meeting with Blake and his parents we both felt like it was in Blake’s best interest to be back home closer to family,” said head coach John Brannen. “Blake is a great young man with a bright future and we wish him and his family all the best going forward.”

The native of Lee’s Summit, Missouri (Lee’s Summit HS), played in 11 games, averaging 2.3 points and 1.3 rebounds.
