COLUMBUS, Ohio – Six Ohio State Buckeyes have been named to midseason All-America lists based on their performances in the team’s 6-0 start to the season and No. 2 national ranking.
Sophomore safety Malik Hooker, fifth nationally with four interceptions, has been named to three midseason All-America teams: Sports Illustrated, ESPN and The Sporting News.
Senior center Pat Elflein and junior linebacker Raekwon McMillan are each named to two midseason teams: Elflein to teams named by Sports Illustrated and The Sporting News, and McMillan to Sports Illustrated and ESPN teams.
Also: junior offensive guard Billy Price was named to the Sports Illustrated team and junior H-back Curtis Samuel, listed as an athlete, was named to The Sporting News midseason team.
Junior quarterback J.T. Barrett was listed as the second-team quarterback on Sports Illustrated’s midseason team.
Nine on ESPN Midseason All-Big Ten Team
Buckeyes were dominant on ESPN’s midseason all-Big Ten Conference team with nine players earning accolades.
On offense, QB J.T. Barrett, center Pat Elflein, guard Billy Price and H-back Curtis Samuel were selected among the best of the Big Ten.
On defense, DE Tyquan Lewis, LB Raekwon McMillan, safety Malik Hooker and CB Marshon Lattimore were honored.
Punter Cameron Johnston, who boasts the best punting average in the country at 50.8, was also named the the midseason all-Big Ten team.
