Gionta brothers to sign autographs, throw first pitches on August 29

ROCHESTER, NY – Brian and Stephen Gionta will be at Frontier Field on Monday, August 29 to sign autographs and throw out the first pitch prior to the Rochester Red Wings game at 7:05 p.m. against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.

The pair will sign from 6-6:45 p.m. on the concourse. A first pitch from each will follow.

Brian is the current captain of the Buffalo Sabres and 2003 Stanley Cup champion with the New Jersey Devils. He is a 14-year NHL veteran between the Devils, Sabres and Montreal Canadiens and is 76 games played shy of 1,000 for his career. Brian starred collegiately at Boston College, winning a National Championship with the Eagles as the team’s captain in 2000-01. He is BC’s all-time leading scorer with 123 goals.

Stephen began his professional career with the New Jersey Devils organization and his entire NHL career through the 2015-16 season has been spent with the Devils. He has played 270 career games from 2010-16 including dressing for all 82 New Jersey games last season. Stephen also attended Boston College. He is currently an unrestricted free agent.

Both brothers attended the Aquinas Institute in Rochester where their parents still reside. Brian and Stephen also make their off-season homes in the Flower City.
