ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — Rising sophomore forward Derrick Woods will not return to the St. Bonaventure basketball program next season, he has announced. Woods intends to transfer to other institution.

Last season, the Trenton, N.J., native played in 30 games, earning 22 starts. The 6-9 power forward averaged 3.5 points and 2.4 rebounds in 13 minutes per game. His best single game in scoring was 11 points in a home win over Davidson on Jan. 2.

“We are disappointed that Derrick has made this decision but wish him all the best,” said Bonnies coach Mark Schmidt. “We had looked forward to continuing to help him grow as a player and a person.”
