SHERRILL, N.Y. — The Sherrill Silversmiths scored four runs in the first inning and never looked back as they defeated the Hornell Dodgers 10-6 in New York Collegiate Baseball League action, Wednesday afternoon at Noyes Park.
In the first, Ryan Coulon (St. Thomas Aquinas) and John Stanton (So. New Hampshire) had RBI singles to give the Silversmiths an early lead. Sebastian De La Cruz (Keystone College) drew a bases loaded walk and Danny Crews (Fort Scott CC) scored on a wild pitch.
The Dodgers cut it to 4-1 in the top of the fourth when Connor Brandon (Concordia Chicago) scored on a wild pitch but Sherrill answered right back with three of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Dylan Pounds (Pitt-Greensburg) had an RBI single and Coulon followed with a two-run single to make it 7-1.
Ty Reginelli (Wofford) hit a solo homer in the top of the fifth to make it 7-2, but the Silversmiths added two more runs as they took advantage of Dodger miscues.
