VICTOR 8 WEBSTER THOMAS 5
Victor right fielder Chris Varone had a triple in the second inning and scored on Kyle Diehl‘s RBI single to put Victor up 1-0. Victor would score again in the top of the third on a Ryan Simmons RBI single.
Thomas scored in the bottom of the third to make it 2-1 and two in the bottom of the fourth to take a 3 to 2 lead.
Victor scored three runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take an 8-4 lead into the seventh inning.
Thomas scored once in the seventh as lead off hitter Ryan Marketell doubled and was driven in by Ryan Mason.
Victor would turn a double play and relief pitcher Nate Hampson struck out the final hitter for Thomas.
Sophomore right handed pitcher Andrew Westbrook picked up his first varsity win throwing 4 and 2/3 innings, allowing four hits and one earned run. Riley White and Hampson pitched in relief for Victor.
Stephen Edgett was the losing pitched for Thomas.
Simmons was 3-for-3 with 3RBI. Diehl was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Victor improves their league record to 4-3. They are 6-10 overall. Victor will play league leader Webster Schroeder on Monday at 4:30.
IRONDEQUOIT 10 BRIGHTON 2
AJ Gartland pitched a complete game 1-hitter, striking out eight and did not allow an earned run. Jason Tisa and Brodie Ferguson had two hits each for the Eagles while Sean Mannion had a 2-run double to seal the game for Irondequoit.
