Smith’s ‘Super Tuesday’ leads UD over Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. – Scoochie Smith scored a career-high 26 points as the Dayton Flyers earned an 85-84 road win against the Richmond Spiders.

Charles Cooke added 21 points and five rebounds, while Dyshawn Pierre added another double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The Flyers hadn’t won at Richmond since 2004, a streak of six games.

Dayton improved to 23-6 overall and 13-4 in the Atlantic 10. The Flyers have already clinched a double-bye in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Championship finishing in the top four of the league. READ MORE.

Leaning on its experience to win, as it has done all season, GW received matching game-high 17 point efforts from Garino and Larsen, while McDonald chipped in nine to go along with a game-high tying five assists against zero turnovers. Mitola, making his first start in a GW uniform, had six points on back-to-back threes during a stretch early in the second half that saw the Colonials blow the game open. READ MORE.
