Bisping fought through illness to average 17 points and 11 rebounds in two huge MAAC wins for the Saints this week. He shot 50% from the field and 63% (5-8) from three-point range in victories over Canisius and Iona. Bisping had 15 points in just 22 minutes in the Saints’ blowout win over the Griffs, making both his three-point attempts and 7-8 free throws. Two days later, he posted 19 points, 13 rebounds and five assists, making 7-15 field goals and 3-6 three-pointers as Siena rallied past Iona 81-78 in the second half. With Siena trailing 63-51, Bisping keyed a momentum-changing 11-0 run with five rebounds, three assists and two points. His huge corner three-pointer with 3:07 left gave Siena a 75-70 lead, and his free throw with 22 seconds left pushed the lead to two. Bisping did all this despite not practicing all week due to severe illness. Bisping leads the MAAC and ranks 30th nationally with 9.6 rebounds per game.
Rookie of the Week

Clareth continued his dominance of the MAAC with two more eye-popping performances in Siena’s wins over Canisius and Iona. He averaged 20 points, five rebounds, three assists and 1.5 steals in 30.5 minutes played as the Saints pulled within a half game of second place. Clareth shot 62% from the field and 46% from three-point range in the two games and made 5-6 free throws. Clareth scored a game-high 22 points in the blowout win over Canisius, and was right in the middle of all the key Siena runs. He followed that effort up with 20 points and seven rebounds in the Saints’ huge comeback win at Iona. Clareth’s running floater with 3:41 left gave Siena a 72-69 lead, and his smooth step-back jumper with 2:17 left made it 77-70. Iona closed the gap to two in the final seconds, but Clareth’s free throw accounted for the final margin and helped seal the win. Clareth has scored at least 13 points in 13 straight games, averaging 17.4 points and shooting 52% from the field over that stretch to emerge as one of the front runners for the MAAC’s Rookie of the Year and Sixth Man Award.
